Donald Trump has intensified global tensions by threatening military action against Colombia, reiterating his desire to acquire Greenland despite strong international rejections, and asserting U.S. influence over Venezuela following the capture of President Nicolas Maduro, sparking widespread international reactions and protests.

Former President Donald Trump has made several controversial statements and actions, causing significant international concern. He indicated support for a military operation in Colombia, stating it 'sounds good' to him. Concurrently, Trump reaffirmed his ambition to acquire Greenland for U.S. defense, a move vehemently rejected by Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen and Greenland's leader, Jens-Frederik Nielsen, who declared 'enough is enough' against annexation discussions. These threats emerged after U.S. forces captured Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, who is now facing drug and weapons charges in a New York court. While Trump claimed the U.S. was 'in charge' of Venezuela, Secretary of State Marco Rubio clarified that the U.S. would primarily enforce an 'oil quarantine.' Maduro's capture has sparked a global outcry; Cuba confirmed 32 officers were killed during the U.S. operation in Venezuela, and protests erupted in Asian cities condemning the 'kidnapping' and U.S. interference. Conversely, the European Union views Maduro's capture as an 'opportunity for a democratic transition,' and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney spoke with Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado, supporting a peaceful transition. China has expressed 'grave concern' and called for Maduro's immediate release, while a UK minister declined to condemn potential U.S. action against Greenland, emphasizing NATO discussions.
