Certified as the world’s largest documented natural purple star sapphire, this round-shaped gem features a rare and well-defined six-ray asterism, making it exceptionally special. Discovered in a gem pit near Rathnapura, Sri Lanka, in 2023, the stone's true significance was recognized about two years after its purchase. International valuers estimate its worth to be between $300 million and $400 million. Consultant gemologist Ashan Amarasinghe confirmed its unparalleled size and unique characteristics, highlighting Sri Lanka's renown for its exceptional sapphires.
