The incident resulted in 20 people killed or injured, including Kennedy, who was shot in the leg and is currently receiving medical treatment at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Washington, D.C., with a prognosis for survival. Among the casualties were Congolese individuals and a former New Zealand special forces soldier. This marks the first fatality for the Vectus Group in Congo.
