Brian Walshe was convicted of first-degree murder for killing his wife, Ana Walshe, who disappeared nearly three years ago from their Massachusetts home, despite her body never being found.

Brian Walshe has been found guilty of first-degree murder in the disappearance and death of his wife, Ana Walshe, whose body has never been recovered since she vanished from their Massachusetts home on New Year's Day nearly three years ago. Ana Walshe, an immigrant from Serbia, was last seen on January 1, 2023, after a New Year's Eve dinner. Walshe had previously pleaded guilty to lesser charges of misleading police and illegally disposing of her body. Prosecutors heavily relied on evidence from devices connected to Brian Walshe, which showed searches related to dismembering bodies and cleaning up blood, including queries like 'dismemberment and best ways to dispose of a body' and 'hacksaw best tool to dismember.' Initially, Walshe told investigators his wife had a work emergency in Washington, D.C., but witnesses testified there was no proof of her travel. Walshe later admitted to dismembering his wife's body and disposing of it in a dumpster, claiming he panicked after finding her dead in bed, a defense his team maintained without calling witnesses.
