Following the trade, Greenard immediately agreed to a four-year, $100 million contract extension with the Eagles, including $50 million in fully guaranteed money, as confirmed by his agent, Drew Rosenhaus. Interim general manager Rob Brzezinski explained the decision was driven by the Vikings' unsustainable spending over recent years, emphasizing the challenging salary cap situation. The Eagles, needing to fill a void left by edge rusher Jaelen Phillips' departure in free agency, acquired Greenard to bolster their defensive line.
